Gauntlet Thrown

Posted by Kimusan on August 18, 2009 at 9:37 am.

Cool people know about Threadless.  But do they know about ThreadCakes?   These people have mad skillz.  And also probably air conditioning.  I have a lot to learn.

It starts with a t-shirt. Several melty hours later. This was not exactly in the lesson plan. Delicious. Orange icing details. Also delicious.

Dear Sister:  Remember that time?  Yeah.  Bring it.

Dear Bridgee:  Happy Birthday!  Your cake is delicious!  Come home now.

That’s all buttercream, right? WELL DONE. Fondant is so much easier to use to get a smooth finish. Most purists consider it “cheating”.

(It’s loads of fun to make, however.)

Lovely cake, Kym. You have a lucky friend!

Kimusan: Thanks, Amy! Fondant is a grade 2 technique. It certainly doesn’t LOOK easier! Worth it to keep going?

I cannot wait to sink my fork into this masterpiece.

Kymu! You’re the bestest. If that pretty thing is mine, can I eat it all, and bring you novelty Aussie chocolates (so you have something to eat while I gain 20 pounds)? xoxox

  • Mom says:

Not bad daughter. The real test will be perfect roses. Try doing that one in hot humid weather! Are you sick of the icing yet?

  • Dad says:

I sampled the masterpiece and can attest it was authentic, very well done and tasty too!
